2019 Samford "BIG GIVE" -- Help the Library Help Students!

The Samford "BIG GIVE" is an annual 36-hour event where you can help make a difference by supporting a variety of projects sponsored by organizations across campus.  This year, we need your help in bringing charging options for students' electronic devices here in the library.

These charging lockers provide a safe and secure charging option for students' laptops, tables, phones, and other electronic devices.  The large bays are equipped with 110V power outlets and USB ports for charging options and feature keypad locks that work just like a hotel safe with user generated codes.

"Small Space, Big Impact"

Presentation Room Now Open!

You may know it as Study Room 214, but thanks to Alfa Insurance, this room is now a high-tech, fully enabled space for you to practice a presentation, record, and save multimedia scholarship. 

Dr. Westmoreland confessed to preferring to stand beside the podium.

After introductions by Randy Pittman and David Hakanson, Dr. Westmoreland helped commemorate the space, saying "students are expected to stand and deliver." In this room, you can prepare and perfect your ability to do that... Literally.

 

 The furniture is all on wheels, from the collapsible tables to the white boards. So, you can arrange the room for however suits your group's needs - board meeting or lecture style. The console allows you to bring your own device (including Apple mobile devices) or bring your file on a flash drive.

Groups can reserve the room through the Library's Circulation desk. Any other time, availability is first come, first serve for two hour periods, like our other study rooms.

InterLibrary Loan Temporarily Closed until 10/2/12

Due to some technical upgrades, our InterLibrary Loan service will be unavailable Tuesday, October 2nd.

• For Borrowers: Requests will not be available from Monday evening until late Tuesday. 
• For Other Libraries: We will go to NON-LENDING status as of 2 pm Monday in order to clear all orders by 4 pm that day. We will resume lending service once the system is back up and running.

We know that many of you depend on our InterLibrary Loan service to round out your research needs, and we appreciate your patience as we complete this critical upgrade to our systems. We hope this brief outage does not inconvenience anyone.

 We try our best to make your search and access experience a seamless one. When you look up an article, then click through to the full-text version, we hope the mechanics are kept behind the scenes. Occasionally, our software providers need to provide maintenance on those systems, which can cause momentary disruptions on those services.

Direct access to articles from EBSCO’s linking services will be unavailable for the following list of publishers:

Only articles from these eight publishers accessed via A-to-Z TOC Browse, EJS, or SmartLinks+ will be affected. These publishers account for only 80 of our more than 15,000 journals handled by our linking services, so the overall impact to your users should be minimal.
