CATASTROPHIC OIL SPILL IN THE GULF OF MEXICO--AND BEYOND

On April 22, 2010, a mobile offshore drilling rig located in the Gulf of Mexico, the Deepwater Horizon, experienced an explosion and fire. The impact of that explosion and the resulting catastrophic oil spill will be felt for years to come. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALABAMA COAST CLEANUP

The Mobile Bay National Estuary Program, Mobile BayKeeper and the Alabama Coastal Foundation are collecting contact information from individuals who are interested in assisting with cleanup efforts along the Alabama coast should oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill reach the state's shores.
