NEW RESOURCE - OncologySTAT

We invite you to learn more about a new resource titled OncologySTAT (http://www.oncologystat.com). OncologySTAT is a product of Elsevier Health Sciences, and integrates multiple evidence-based sources focusing on cancer care and prevention, including the following:
  • peer-reviewed research
  • news,
  • regulatory updates,
  • drug monograph and interactions database
  • chemotherapy regimens
  • conference coverage
OncologySTAT stands out among electronic resources offering a wide breadth of peer-reviewed research because it is an open access source and charges no fee for use. It receives its funding through online advertising, sponsorship, and educational grants.

The site's content remains, nevertheless, independent of all sponsorship. The publishers emphasize that this commercial sponsorship coexists with "...the highest level of academic rigor, objectivity, and fair balance associated with all Elsevier products." (See http://www.oncologystat.com/about/oncologystat/index.html.)

OncologySTAT represents a significant development in academic publishing because it makes freely available to both academic and non-academic users material of the highest quality. We encourage members of the Samford community to explore this source and share your percpetions and impressions with us.
